My Opinion:
I love cozies! Hickory Smoked Homicide is the third book in A Memphis BBQ Mystery but it read just fine as a stand alone. I do plan on reading #1 and #2 though.
I liked the characters in the book. They felt well developed and gave me the feel of who they are. Widow Lulu Taylor is a hoot!
A story with plenty of red herrings is what I like in a mystery. I hate to figure out who the guilty party is too soon. This mystery really did keep me guessing with a victim who wasn't liked very much by so many.
Hickory Smoked Homicide was a fun, easy read that I would recommend.

I don't read cozy mysteries too often, but when I do, I thoroughly enjoy them! Have you read A Witch in Time? No wait, that's not it. It's It Takes a Witch, but I can't remember the author for the life of me. I also adored Banana Split (again, author does not come to mind). Anyway, great review!!

DeleteI haven't read either of those books but Banana Split is on my wish list. The author is Josi Kilpack. I read the first in that series, Lemon Tart. Fun read.
